Chester Bennington’s wife, Talinda, has released a statement, one week after his tragic passing. You can read her full statement, which she posted on Twitter, below.

“One week ago today, I lost my soulmate and my children lost their hero-their Daddy. We had a fairytale life and now it has turned into some sick Shakespearean tragedy. How do I move on? How do I pick up my shattered soul? The only answer I know is to raise our babies with every ounce of love I have left. I want to let my community and the fans worldwide know that we feel your love. We feel your loss as well. My babies are so young to have lost their daddy. And I know that all of you will help keep his memory alive. He was a bright, loving soul with an angels voice. And now he is pain free singing his songs in all of our hearts. May God Bless us all and help us turn to one another when we are in pain. Chester would’ve wanted us to do so. Rest In Peace, my love. Always, Mrs. Talinda Bennington.”

Last week, Bennington was found dead inside his home in Palos Verdes Estates in L.A. County. The Linkin Park singer died after an apparent suicide. Bennington was very close friends with musician Chris Cornell, who committed suicide back in May. Bennington hanged himself in a similar manner and did so on what would have been Cornell’s birthday.

Soon after Bennington’s death, Talinda’s Twitter account appeared to have been hacked. Today is the first day that she has spoken out about the death of her husband.

Bennington is survived by his wife and six children. Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced, but TMZ reports that Bennington’s family wants a private memorial. The site also reports that the family is considering different options so that Bennington’s fans can also have a chance to pay their respects.
