‘Rick and Morty’: Why Was the Wind Telling Jerry He Was a Loser?

Adult Swim

In Season 3 Episode 2 of Rick and Morty, poor Jerry was having a really tough time. In fact, in two different instances, the wind would swirl around him and a voice would whisper, “Loooooseeeerrrr.”

But what exactly is going on?

We don’t know for sure yet. But fans have some interesting theories.

Some fans think that Rick might be behind it and are saying the voice on the wind sounded a lot like him. But other fans aren’t buying this theory. Remember, Rick seemed surprised when Jerry showed up while he, Summer, and Morty were in the garage. And Rick had already jumped through the portal and was long gone by the time Jerry heard his first “Loser.”

Some think that this is going to end up being an actual evil entity that’s haunting Jerry. Perhaps a being from another dimension. Or maybe even something that’s controlling the dog in the after-credits scene, who seemed to really be intent on eating Jerry’s unemployment check.

One interesting theory, shared by Redditor PM_ME_BIBLE_QUOTES, is that the voice sounds like Rick because it is Rick — but a different Rick. It will be the robot Rick that we’ve seen in the trailer. This actually makes a lot of sense.

Others think that Jerry might be in a simulation again, especially at the end. The dog seemed to have too much knowledge of what it was doing, so something was off.

But others think that we’re taking the whole thing too seriously, and it was just a really good joke that won’t be continued in future episodes:
