How Long Is ‘Game of Thrones’ Season 7 Episode 5 Tonight?

HBO

Although some episodes of Game of Thrones are going to be longer this season to help balance out how short the season is, we’re just not there yet. Tonight’s episode isn’t quite 60 minutes long, although it is nine minutes longer than last week’s episode. Last week’s episode was so epic, however, it was tough to even notice how  short it was.

According to the show’s TV listings, tonight’s episode will end at 10:00 p.m. Eastern.
Here are the run times for the rest of the episodes in the season:

  • Episode 5: 59 minutes
  • Episode 6: 71 minutes
  • Episode 7: 81 minutes

The longest episode so far has been the Season 6 finale, Winds of Winter, which clocked in for 68 minutes. We’re going to beat that length even before we reach the finale, with the penultimate episode clocking in at 71 minutes. Then, this season’s finale is going to blow every record of the water, being 81 minutes long.

The finale will be bittersweet, however. It’ll be great to see an episode that long. But it’ll be sad to see the season end so early. Fans just aren’t ready.

Things are looking up for Season 8. Although the season will only have six episodes, there have been some rumors that those episodes might be feature-movie-length. This will make us feel at least a little less bitter about the season being so short.
