Jeffree Star and Kim Kardashian are two very hot names on Twitter today. Kardashian just released information about her new makeup products and Star, a makeup vlogger who resides in Orange County, California, decided to post about the videos, giving Kardashian’s powder contour kits less-than-glowing reviews on first glance.
The two responded to one another using social media (Kardashian used Snapchat, Star responded on Twitter). However, more things transpired and Twitter is now slamming Kardashian.
Here is what you need to know:
1. Kardashian Posted Swatches of Her New Beauty Items for Her Social Media Followers on Monday
Kardashian has revealed her latest makeup products in her new line, KKW Beauty. After having wild success with her first release — a cream contour kit — Kardashian has decided to release a powder contour palette.
On Monday, Kardashian took to Snapchat to swatch the new Bronzing Contour and Highlight Palette. She swatched all of the different shades on the back of her hand and on her forearm, discussing each shade as she went.
“I’ve been working on these colors for so long,” Kardashian explained. She wanted to get the “perfect bronze contour,” she said.
Kardashian’s newest products will launch on August 22 at 12:00 p.m. Pacific time.
2. Star Was Quick to Tweet About the Products, Saying That They Looked Like ‘Chalk’
Star is a big fan of Kim Kardashian, but the makeup artist was not impressed with Kardashian’s newest products — at least not on first glance. Star was quick to take to Twitter to discuss the powder contour kits.

It didn’t take long for people to start replying to Star. In fact, fans of Kardashian and her beauty products were sort of shocked that Star would post something negative about her new products. Star responded to those people as well.
3. Kardashian Took to Snapchat to Respond to Star’s Comments
It didn’t take long for Kardashian to catch wind of Star’s comments and she decided to respond on Snapchat.
“Guys, I see that my fans are totally hating on someone like Jeffree Star for being, you know, honest about my struggle swatches. But because of his remarks I’m learning from the best, like from Mario, how to swatch properly,” Kardashian said.
4. Kardashian Brought Up Star’s Racist Comments From Years Ago & Said She Believes He Has Changed
Well over a decade ago, Star made some racist comments. Years later, a video of those comments surfaced, and Star decided to issue a public apology. Star posted a 15-minute video titled, “Racism.” Below is a transcript of Star’s apology (in part).
“For the last few years as I have joined the YouTube community I have been subjected to a lot of drama and I get it you know. I am a hot topic, I have always been outspoken, I am someone that looks different and I realize that with all that is going to come the negative. Every time that I get into an online conflict, or confrontation, or some crazy feud, whether it’s with my ex best friend, or a celebrity, or other YouTubers, a lot of stuff from my past constantly gets dragged up. In these videos I say some really disgusting, vile, nasty and embarrassing things, and you know what’s f*cked up? The past can never be erased. It is always going to be there and my past has been recorded, it’s been videoed, it has been exploited all over the Internet and those videos were 12 years ago. I look at them and it just makes me sick to my stomach because I don’t know who that person was. The person that said those horrible, vile things. That person was depressed, that person was just angry at the world, that person felt like they were not accepted, that person was seeking attention. I was someone that loved to seek attention when I was younger, I loved the shock value, I loved fighting anger with anger and I didn’t know any better. Does that make it ok? Absolutely not. I am so sorry for my words, I am so sorry for everything that I’ve said in my past. I can never turn back time and take those moments away,” Star said.
Kardashian addressed Star’s racist video and said that she forgives him because she feels as though people can change.
“I see [my fans] being so petty bringing up things from his past where he, you know, was negative, but he’s also apologized for those things. And I get it’s a serious deal if you say racial things, but I do believe in people changing, and people that apologize, I will give them the benefit of the doubt. I know better than anyone that I hate when people bring up my past or mistakes I’ve made in the past. So let him live. I want to make one last thing clear, I do not defend people that are racist and I am very against it. But if someone claims that they have changed, I would love to give them the benefit of the doubt, and I pray to God that they do change for the sake of my children and my friends,” Kardashian said.
“I welcome honest, you know, comments about my product and because of it I’m swatching better now. So everyone get off his ass, and lets not be so negative. We’re all in this together, there’s room for all of us. Love you, Jeffree,” she added.

5. Twitter Is in an Uproar Over Kardashian’s Comments About Forgiving Star
Twitter users are really unhappy with Kardashian for addressing Star’s racist comments. Several users feel that Kardashian doesn’t have a leg to stand on when it comes to “forgiving” Star for what was previously said because Kardashian is white. Twitter users were quick to point out that Kardashian doesn’t understand racism despite being in a bi-racial marriage and having bi-racial children.
