Luann De Lesseps and husband Tom D’Agostino have been the subject of rumors and cheating allegations for months on Real Housewives of New York. Unfortunately, though De Lesseps maintained that she and her husband had a loving and stable relationship, clearly there was more going on behind the scenes, because they have announced they are ending their marriage. The announcement came via Twitter on August 3, 2017 and De Lesseps wrote:

The couple were married just about 7 months, tying the knot on New Year’s Eve in an elaborate wedding in Palm Beach, Florida.
Just a couple weeks ago, the couple was rumored to be in trouble after De Lesseps supposedly slapped D’Agostino while out to dinner. Page Six reported that De Lesseps and her husband were spotted having an argument at Le Bilboquet restaurant and De Lesseps spoke out about the altercation to E! News. De Lesseps explained that:
What couple doesn’t have lovers’ quarrels? Tom and I are very passionate and very much in love with each other and things happen. Unfortunately we are very much public people and so everybody likes to talk about it. From the Housewives to the restaurant, it’s very hard to keep privacy.
She also said that she didn’t really slap D’Agostino, explaining that:
It was more of a tap then a slap. It was a lovers’ quarrel. I think all couples go through these things … It was made to be a much bigger deal. People like to gossip, people like to talk. That can weigh heavily on a relationship. Tom and I have been through a lot, but we love each other. We aren’t going to let gossip or rumors get the best of us.
Infidelity was reported as one of the probable causes of the couple’s demise as De Lesseps told E! News:
You can push me so far. but once you push me over the line …
De Lesseps also said on the reunion of RHONY that if she found out D’Agostino was cheating, she would leave him.
