Luann De Lesseps and Tom D’Agostino Jr. are calling it quits after just seven months together.
On Thursday afternoon, the RHONY star took to Twitter to announce that she and D’Agostino have split, although the two still “care for each other very much”.

1. The Couple Is Divorcing After 7 Months of Marriage
Tom and Luann tied the knot on December 31, 2016, in a lavish ceremony in Palm Beach.
De Lesseps said “I do” in front of 250 guests, and described the wedding to People as “one of the best days of my life.” The ceremony was filmed and televised on on the season 9 premiere of The Real Housewives of New York City.
Luann was smitten leading up to the wedding and did not shy away from cameras when it came to sharing her feelings about Tom. Prior to the ceremony, she told E! News, “I adore Tom and I want to be happy. I don’t want to have the Housewives curse so I don’t think it’s something that I’m willing to do.”
Many of Luann’s co-stars even approved of the marriage, telling E!, “She’s so much happier. She’s just over the moon happy, smiling all the time [and] in the best mood. She just loves him so much and he just looks at her like God has descended from the heavens and he’s just in awe.”
2. A Source Tells People It Was Luann’s Decision to File for Divorce
On Thursday, a source told People that it was Luann’s decision to officially call it quits and file.
3. Divorce Rumors Surfaced in Mid-July
Since their wedding day, Luann and Tom have faced a fair share of criticism. In July, news outlets began reporting that the two had hit a rough patch. Page Six said the marriage was “hanging by a thread”, and quoted a source reportedly close to the couple as saying, “It isn’t exactly a match made in heaven… He hates the whole reality [TV] thing, he doesn’t want the attention or the scrutiny.”
In July, De Lesseps was forced to defend her marriage to the cameras. Speaking to E! Online after being caught in a quarrel with D’Agostino, she said, “What couple doesn’t have lovers’ quarrels? Tom and I are very passionate and very much in love with each other and things happen… Unfortunately we are very much public people and so everybody likes to talk about it. From the Housewives to the restaurant, it’s very hard to keep privacy.”
4. There Were Rumors That Luann Slapped Tom in Public
Among the many rumors was the one that Luann slapped Tom in public. Speaking to E!, Luann later said, “It was more of a tap then a slap… It was a lovers’ quarrel. I think all couples go through these things.”
Page Six also reports the two broke up and got back together a number of times over the course of their 7 month marriage, though neither Tom nor Luann corroborated this.
5. Tom Said Their Relationship Was Going Well in Late July
Things must have heated up quickly, because on July 17, Tom told US Weekly, “There is a lot of love here. We want it to succeed.
