Raven Gates was the runner-up on Nick Viall’s season of The Bachelor and she was a fan-favorite on the show. On The Bachelor, Gates went through a few “firsts” and also talked about her past relationships. Gates said her ex-boyfriend cheated on her and she caught him in the act. She said she attacked him and the girl he was having sex with, using her stiletto shoe, before leaving them alone. Gates also said that her ex-boyfriend never gave her an orgasm. In an interview with Us Weekly, her ex Hunter Henry said that he wishes her well, but that what she told Viall was not the truth. He also said that Gates had told him she loved him even though Gates maintained that she never told another man those words before Nick Viall.
During her overnight date with Nick Viall, Gates talked about how she’d only had sex with one person. The next day, it seemed like Gates and Viall consummated their relationship and that it was definitely played up for the cameras. In an interview with Glamour, Viall talked about his reaction to Gates’ confession, saying:
I didn’t want to make it too much of a big deal. I didn’t want to be like, “Oh my God!” It was like, “OK, that’s fine.” I appreciated her willingness to be bold enough to address that. There is the physical aspect, but there are a lot of things I looked forward to doing with Raven in terms of communicating with her that were also a priority of mine.

Gates gets to go on dates with a couple guys on the show, first with cast member Robby Hayes. But, Hayes ends up with Amanda Stanton, not Gates. The man who Reality Steve says Gates goes in for the long haul with on the show is Adam Gottschalk and Steve says they are still together.
