Tracee Ellis Ross, tonight’s host, plays Dr. Rainbow Johnson in ABC’s Blackish and is also the daughter of Diana Ross, who hosted in 1986 and 1987 and is set to perform tonight. Diana Ross will also receive the lifetime achievement award tonight. US Weekly reports that Ross is planning to honor her mother through multiple outfit changes.

Tracee recently told the Hollywood Reporter, “There will definitely be a lot of nods to my mom. There will be one special moment I actually get to bring out the nostalgia of a particular piece of clothing.”

And what about the performers? As is the deal each year, some of your favorite artists will be hitting the stage, including Pink and Kelly Clarkson, who are slated to open the show together.

Another highly anticipated performance is Selena Gomez’s– she’ll be performing her new song, Wolves. Lady Gaga, Shawn Mendes, Nick Jonas, Niall Horan, and Demi Lovato will also be taking the stage. And Christina Aguilera and Whitney Houston will be combining their talents for a commemoration tribute to The Bodyguard, which was released on November 25, 1992.

When it comes to the nominations for tonight’s prestigious awards, its tough to say who’ll walk home the winner in each category. Bruno Mars leads the pack with eight nominations, followed by Ed Sheeran, Drake, The Chainsmokers, Kendrick Lamar, and The Weeknd.

In 2014, Selena Gomez debuted her single “The Heart Wants What It Wants”. Gomez has said that she’s excited for tonight’s ceremony; she captioned a recent Instagram video, “My first performance in over a year… The AMAs have been a place where I’ve shared some of my most intimate moments. [“Heart Wants What It Wants,”] after treatment and now [“Wolves.”] This Sunday.”
