Hollywood Life’s claim that Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are planning on eloping is false.

Late last week, a source reportedly close to the couple told Hollywood Life, “They know that is going to be a big deal when they finally get themselves married… So much so that they are considering just eloping and then having a big party to celebrate with friends and family.”

The source later added, “They love each other and that is not going to change if they don’t have a big wedding. They’ve been married before and feel they don’t have to go all out and make a big deal out of it. It’s something that has been discussed on a few occasions so they are definitely thinking about it being one of their options since they’ll be getting married eventually anyways.” That claim, however, is being hailed fake news.

Later in the week, Gossip Cop published an article that accused Hollywood Life of being a “fabrication factory”. The article claims that the Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton eloping story is completely made up, and that Hollywood Life invented its sources to “give credence” to the article.

Neither Blake nor Gwen have commented on marriage in the past few weeks. In fact, the latest wedding-related discussion comes from Adam Levine, who recently told Howard Stern, “They’re so in love it’s disgusting. It’s so funny. They found each other at really interesting times in their lives. It’s really beautiful,” he said. “I still tell [Shelton], ‘I can’t believe you get to be with Gwen Stefani’ … It’s just not f—ing right!”

When Stern brought up marriage, Levine said he had “no idea” if Blake is intending on proposing in the near future. Adam did say he better snag an invite if Blake pops the question, though.

Blake Shelton married his first wife, Kaynette Gern, in 2003. The couple divorced in 2006. He then married Miranda Lambert on May 14, 2011, and in July 2015, the pair announced their divorce.

Four months later, rumors surfaced that Blake had started seeing his The Voice colleague, Gwen Stefani. In a candid interview with,  Blake spoke about his divorce from Lambert. He says that when he went to tell his colleagues on The Voice that he and his wife were separating, Gwen was left in tears. (Little did he know that she, too, was separating from her husband, Bush singer Gavin Rossdale, at the time.) Later that day, Gwen asked to speak with Blake, alone. The singer recalls, “I thought it was going to be another one of those things-are-going-to-be-OK talks… She didn’t tell me much, because we didn’t know each other at the time, but she said, ‘I’m going through something very similar to what you’re going through. I understand. And I hate it.’ That’s kind of how our friendship and bond started, that day. It went from that, to checking in on each other once a week through email — ‘This shit happened to me, what happened to you?’ — to maybe three times a week, then every day, to ‘Hey, here’s my phone number if you ever want to text.’ Next thing I know, I wake up and she’s all I care about, and I’m wondering if she feels the same about me.”

From there, the two developed a close bond. “Gwen saved my life. Who else on earth could understand going through a high-profile divorce from another musician? You can’t even imagine the similarities in our divorces.”

If anything, Gwen and Blake’s bond seems to have intensified over time. And although the two haven’t said they plan on getting married anytime soon, they seem as happy as ever.

This affair is over but Blake doesn’t know how to end it without hurting his image. Gwen is a clinger and she isn’t going to give up all the publicity she craves. She will go back to being a nobody if Blake can figure out how to dump her.
