Look out, there are four adorable children in town!
Entering the fifth and final season of Fixer Upper, fans are growing more and more curious about Chip and Joanna’s four children, who are growing up before our very eyes. While they don’t appear often on the show, fans of the hit HGTV show have seen the youngins’ all over Instagram, where it’s clear they are the apple of their parents’ eyes.

1. Joanna Has Said She Hopes to Have Another Child
Speaking to USA Today last year, Joanna said that she’s not against having another baby. Chip, however, isn’t too keen on the idea.
“I’m trying to talk him into another child,” Joanna said. “But he’s not interested.”
Joanna may have her hands full, though. “Having Chip is like having a whole set of triplets,” she jokes. “You think when he’s out there with the kids, he’s telling them what NOT to do, but he’s encouraging them to shoot at the house… at a wasp nest!”
2. Their Kids “Do Not Know” They’re Famous
In an interview with Country Living on January 16, Chip and Joanna said that because they don’t have a TV in their home, the kids aren’t totally aware how famous their parents are.
“… they don’t really understand that we have a show,” Joanna said to People. “They don’t get it.”
Luckily, the children have animals to keep them busy. The Gaines’ live on a hundred-year-old farmhouse that sits on plenty of farmland. Joanna tells HGTV.com, “The [children] love being outside, they love farm animals and they are sure to always keep things interesting around here.”
3. Chip’s Mom Has Said The Kids Are One Reason Chip and Joanna Have Chosen to End the Show
After announcing their show’s cancellation, Chip Gaines’ mom, Gayle Gaines, said that Chip and Joanna’s children are one reason they’ve decided to end the show after five seasons.
Speaking to Closer Weekly, Gayle said, “They earned some time to rest. As far as I’ve known, they’ve always planned on stepping out to make sure their kids got to enjoy part of their childhood out of the spotlight… Their ability to know when it’s time to step out and move into a new part of their lives is a testament to what amazing people they are.”
Chip’s mom continued, “They care very much about how their children turn out, and they are very well aware that spending time with them and investing in their lives is important… All I know is that I’m sure they’re making the right decision for them.”
4. Their Kids Are 12, 10, 9, and 8
Chip and Joanna have two girls and two boys. Drake, Ella Rose, Duke, and Emmie Kay are 12, 10, 9, and 8, respectively.
Joanna’s Instagram is full of pictures of her kids. The one below is captioned, “I dreamed I was being attacked by a sweet smelling koala bear and then I woke up… #phew #emmielou #illtakethisalldayeveryday ❤️”
5. Their Kids May Be There When You Don’t See Them…
Some funny behind-the-scenes photos suggest that Chip and Joanna’s little ones may be around more than you think. In fact, they may even be sitting at their parents feet while filming interview sections for their show!
