DWTS Results: Who Gets Eliminated on ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Tonight?

Tonight was filled with trio performances on Dancing With the Stars and one couple faced elimination after the dances were complete. Let’s get into the results … The first couple announced as safe tonight was Jordan Fisher and Lindsay Arnold, followed by Lindsey Stirling and Mark Ballas. Next, Victoria Arlen and Val Chmerkovskiy were also revealed to be safe, followed by Drew Scott and Emma Slater. This left Frankie Muniz and Terrell Owens as the bottom two contestants. Which one of them were sent home? … The couple who was eliminated was Terrell Owens and Cheryl Burke.

Terrell Owens and Cheryl Burke were the first couple to dance tonight and the judges told Owens that he is the greatest improved contestant in the competition. Next up was Drew Scott with pro partner Emma Slater and Scott couldn’t help but get emotional as he dedicated his performance to his fiancee Linda Phan. The judges had a little bit of criticism on Scott’s technique, but they told him they enjoyed the journey he took them on with his dance. Scott ended up with a 22 out of 30 for his score. Tonight it was revealed that contestant Victoria Arlen suffered a painful spasm in dress rehearsal, but she was ready to perform at the live show. For her dance with Val Chmerkovskiy, the two carried on an Argentine Tango. The judges loved the performance, though Carrie Ann Inaba said Arlen was looking down too much and Bruno Tonioli said she needed to act the part more. For their score, they ended up with a 24 out of 30.

Last week, Lindsey Stirling was dealing with a painful injury and this week, she says she’s worked at getting her spirit back to dance with Mark Ballas. For their first performance, the duo had a circus-themed lion tamer routine. Stirling and Ballas killed it, but Judge Len Goodman had a couple dislikes. All in all, the couple ended up with a 26 out of 30 for their score. Frankie Muniz and Witney Carson delivered a clean and romantic performance. Some of the judges praised Muniz, while Len Goodman felt that Muniz lacked in technique and said there wasn’t enough “in hold” for him. In the end, the couple wound up with a 26 out of 30. And, closing out the first round of performances, was Jordan Fisher with pro partner Lindsay Arnold. Leading up to their performance, Fisher said he was feeling the pressure to win Arnold her first mirrorball trophy. Fisher’s performance was a great success, with Len Goodman even standing up to give him applause. The judges found Fisher’s performance to be flawless and he was awarded a perfect score.

Next was the trio dances. First up was Kelly Monaco, returning to dance with Cheryl Burke and Terrell Owens. Monaco is the season 1 winner and happens to be a great friend of Burke. For the performance, the trio put on a sexy routine to Niall Horan’s song “Slow Hands.” Their dance earned a score of 24 out of 30. After a commercial break, Drew Scott and Emma Slater took on their spirited trio performance with former champion, athlete Rashad Jennings. Judge Bruno Tonioli said that keeping up with Jennings is hard to do. He also said that Scott’s timing wasn’t always “on it.” For their trio dance, they got a 24 out of 30. Olympic gold medalist and season 23 winner Laurie Hernandez joined in to be a part of Victoria Arlen and Val Chmerkovskiy’s trio dance. Arlen was told by Len Goodman that it wasn’t a “gold medal performance,” but it was good. Arlen said she was still dealing with her leg spasm pain and opted for sneakers to wear for their routine. They earned a score of 24 out of 30 after the judges gave their opinions.

Kristi Yamaguchi, the winner of season 6 with Mark Ballas, returned to join Ballas and his new dance partner Lindsey Stirling. The trio delivered a jazz routine that the judges gushed over tonight. For their trio score, they earned a 28 out of 30. Alfonso Ribeiro, Frankie Muniz and Witney Carson were next up. Their performance was full of energy and delight, as they even incorporated Ribeiro’s “Carlton” dance moves from his Fresh Prince of Bel-Air days. Judge Bruno Tonioli said that the routine was so well-balanced and it was a great performance. Meanwhile, Carrie Ann Inaba said she saw Muniz’s nerves. Judge Len Goodman said he thought the performance was very entertaining and he said that Muniz is a good dancer. The scores for this dance ended up being 27 out of 30. Last up, was Lindsay Arnold, Jordan Fisher and returning celebrity Corbin Bleu … and they got rave reviews from the judges.
