Kevin Davy White has wowed the judges with his voice this season on X Factor UK, and his performances have won him hundreds of fans, too. A talented guitarist who has dedicated his life to music, the 29-year-old has made a mark on London over the past few years, and now may just be his time to shine.
Here’s what we know about Kevin Davy White.
1. He’s a Full-Time Musician from Paris
Kevin moved from Paris to London, where he decided it was time he audition for The X Factor. Luckily, that decision was the right one, and he earned four yes’s from the judges.
Kevin then progressed to Boot Camp, where he found himself in a four-way sing-off with Tommy Kendall, Rebecca Kelly, and Anthony Russell. At the Six Chair Challenge, his rendition of Bob Marley’s “Is This Love”, earned him a place in Nicole Scherzinger’s Over 28s.
In Week 2, Kevin had the highest ranking public vote, and came out victorious in a sing-off against Rak-Su. One week later, again, he was at the top of the public vote. This time, he went head to head with Lloyd Macey, whom he lost to.
2. He Auditioned for the French Version of ‘The Voice’
Last year, White auditioned for the French version of The Voice. Fans may presume he made it through to the finals, but somehow, none of the judges turned their chair for him.
Before auditioning for X Factor UK, Kevin told the cameras, “I did The Voice France just last year… But X Factor’s a really big stage and I want people to hear my music.”
3. He Released His Debut EP in March 2017
In March, White released his debut EP, ‘Mr. Feeling’. You can listen to it here.
He’s also uploaded a number of videos to his Youtube site, which you can check out here. He cites his inspirations as Ray Charles and James Brown, and has toured with gigs in London, Italy, and France.
Kevin’s next album is due for release in winter 2018 according to the Radio Times.
4. He Was Previously an Electrician
White is a former electrician, but as of late, music has taken up most of his time. “It’s not who I am,” he told the judges upon entering the room for his X Factor musician.

5. He Has a Girlfriend
Based on his Instagram, Kevin has been in a relationship with his girlfriend, Amy, for quite a while.
Amy accompanied Kevin to his X Factor auditions in Thorpe Park, where he clearly impressed the judges with his rendition of “Man’s World” by James Brown. When he finished the song, Nicole gave him a standing ovation and told him, “You can make a record – I would listen to your voice.” Sharon Osbourne seconded the sentiments, saying Kevin performed “organically” while Louis said he was a “natural talent”. Simon even admitted that Kevin had an “amazing” voice.
