Robert Durst has been featured in the headlines somewhat recently with his recent arrest and the controversy surrounding the HBO documentary series “The Jinx.” Lifetime took a new angle on this story, bringing Katherine “Kathie” McCormack Durst to the foreground of The Lost Wife of Robert Durst.
In the movie, young Kathie falls in love with older, charming and quirky Rober Durst. They get married, only to find their marriage turning darker and disturbing as time goes on. When Kathie disappears in January 1982, family and friends find that her disappearance isn’t being taken as seriously as it should be by the police.
Robert Durst is currently in jail awaiting trial for the murder of his friend Susan Berman, there are still questions about what really happened to Kathie. The Lifetime movie explores what could have happened to Kathie and is based on the book “A Deadly Secret: The Bizzare and Chilling Story of Robert Durst” by Matt Birkbeck.
