Thomas Markle Jr, Meghan Markle Brother

Wedding bells are ringing once again over in London. This past weekend, news broke that Prince Harry has proposed to his girlfriend, Meghan Markle, and the two will tie the knot in a ceremony scheduled for next spring.

On Monday, Meghan and Prince Harry made their first public appearance since their engagement was announced earlier in the day. The news has led to increasing curiosity about the family and life of the woman who stole Harry’s heart.

Markle was born in Los Angeles, CA, to Tom Markle and Doira Radlan. She has two half siblings who have made headlines recently for their statements regarding Meghan’s relationship with Harry.

Meghan’s brother, Thomas Markle Jr., stands at 6’3″, and resides in Oregon. He has spoken to the Daily Mail on multiple occasions with only positive comments about Meghan and Harry’s relationship, and their marriage moving forward.

Read on to learn about Thomas Markle Jr.

1. He Is Meghan’s Half Brother

Thomas Jr. is Meghan’s older half-brother from her father, Thomas W. Markle’s, first marriage to a woman named Roslyn Loveless.

Thomas W. Markle, 72, was active in the entertainment industry. He was a camera operator on the ’80s family sitcom Married With Children, and according to Town and Country Magazine, he met Prince Harry during a visit to Toronto just last summer. According to Thomas Jr., Meghan and her dad are “very close and they stay in close contact.”

Thomas Jr has been forthcoming with The Daily Mail about his family’s personal life. On November 18, he told the Daily Mail that his father won a $750,000 lottery when Meghan was just 9. “If Meg marries Harry she’ll have won the lottery of life but dad winning the lottery helped us all,” he said.

2. He Says He Is ‘Proud’ of Meghan

The Daily Mail was able to interview Thomas Jr. from his home in Grant’s Pass, Oregon, where he told the outlet that the bride-to-be “has always been a princess.”

“I do have a sense of pride in Meghan being successful,” Thomas Jr. said. “It was just obvious from day one that she was destined to be somewhere really big. She’s always been a princess. She’s carried herself on that level from day one.”

3. His Sister Has Made Negative Comments About the Impending Marriage

Thomas Jr.’s sister, Yvonne (she now goes by Samantha), lives in Silver Springs, Florida, and the Markle family remains estranged from her.

Samantha has been vocal about her contempt for her sister. Express reports her as once saying, “The Royal Family would be appalled by what [Meghan’s] done to her own family.”

Samantha is writing a tell-all book about Meghan, which she has referenced on Twitter a number of times.

4. Thomas Jr. Has Faced Some Legal Troubles

Thomas Jr. was arrested on January 13 for allegedly putting a gun to his girlfriend, Darlene Blount’s, head during what the Daily Mail calls a “drunken late night” altercation.

The Oregon Judicial Department’s profile of the case reveals that the charges brought against Markle were ‘Unlawful Use of a Weapon’ and ‘Menacing’.

Both charges were dismissed.

The Sun reports that Thomas’ ex-wife, Tracey Dooley, was worried about how Thomas Jr’s arrest would affect Meghan and her relationship with the prince. “I don’t want this to be embarrassing for Meghan.”

5. Tom Jr’s Sister Claims He Is Mentally Ill

Samantha Grant is not the biggest fan of her estranged brother. On November 19, she took to Twitter with a comment that read, “Tom Junior is mentally ill. Don’t you think if my dad won the lottery would be on public record. The Daily Mail believes any lie my brother feeds them.”

Samantha claims that their father never won the lottery. “@DailyMailUK get a refund for what you paid my brother my father never won the lottery and my father has disowned my brother.”

On another occasion, she wrote, “Who would believe what comes out of the mouth of this. My brother needs help his drinking and drugs are going too far.”
