This year, Veterans Day falls on Saturday, November 11 in the US. Since the holiday falls on a weekend, the federal holiday will be observed today, Friday, November 10.

The miniseries Five Came Back was executively produced by Steven Spielberg and Scott Rudin and narrated by Meryl Streep. It is a three-part documentary series that, in the words of The Atlantic, “celebrates and analyzes the efforts of major Hollywood directors who depicted World War II.”

Beasts of No Nation is a war-drama film written, co-produced, and directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga, who tells the story of a young boy who becomes a child soldier as his country undergoes a horrific war.
