Kandi Burruss is pulling double duty, appearing on two Bravo shows Sunday nights. Not only is she starring on Real Housewives of Atlanta, she is also appearing on the limited series Xscape: Still Kickin’ It. The girl group Xscape is back in action and the show name “Still Kickin’ It” is a play on the group’s first single “Just Kickin’ It”. The single is from their 1993 debut album Hummin’ Comin’ at ‘Cha. And, the original group of girls involved were sisters LaTocha and Tamika Scott, Kandi Burruss, Tameka “Tiny” Cottle, and Tamera Coggins-Wynn. Coggins-Wynn has not returned to be a part of the show and many know Tiny Cottle as the wife of rapper T.I. Cottle and T.I. even have their own reality show.
So, what is this TV show about? … It has been 20 years since the group split up and now they are back on stage together. Since their break up, Burruss has gone on to be a Grammy-winning success, restaurateur, entrepreneur and songwriter. Tiny has been appearing on reality TV, but she’s been juggling her marriage and motherhood, while her music career takes a back seat to family. Tamika and LaTocha are looking to press forward and get back to their roots in the industry. NBC’s official description of the show reads, “With two sold out shows in Detroit, performances at the BET Awards and Essence Festival, will the group be able to reconcile and look past bubbled up resentments and give their fans the comeback they’ve been eagerly anticipating?”
One of the big issues that goes down with the Xscape reunion is between Burruss and Cottle. When Burruss feels that Cottles jumps the gun a bit, she becomes upset and says that she does not feel comfortable to be in a deep and committed relationship with the group yet. Burruss tells Cottle that, “You are frustrating me right now. Everything that we discussed, you are totally changing. I said I didn’t know how I feel about us joining our names on a company yet because I didn’t know how I feel about us definitely doing business yet. Don’t you think before y’all made a decision to come up with this company that y’all came up with that y’all just put my name on a company? Who just puts somebody’s name on a company?” And, Cottle’s response, according to People, is, “I’ve been said I want to do shows. I’ve told you that. Kandi, either you in or you out. What you want to do? Are you in or are you out?”
