‘Just Getting Started’: Meet the Cast of the New Movie

Just Getting Started premieres on November 8, 2017 and has been met with mixed reviews so far. The comedy is an action film in the same way as Midnight Run (1988) was.

Just Getting Started is about ex-F.B.I. Agent played by Tommy Lee Jones and an ex-mob lawyer in the Witness Protection Program, played by Morgan Freeman. The men have to put aside their rivalry that they share on the golf course in order to fend off a mob hit.

The comedy was written and directed by Ron Shelton. It was produced by Bill Gerber and Steve Richards.

Morgan Freeman as Duke

Morgan Freeman is an American actor, producer and narrator. Freeman won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2005 for his performance in Million Dollar Baby. He has received numerous Oscar nominations for his performances in Street Smart (1987), Driving Miss Daisy (1989), The Shawshank Redemption (1994) and Invictus (2009). The actor has also won a Golden Globe Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award. He has appeared in many other box office hits.

Glenne Aimee Headley was an American actress. Headly passed away on June 8, 2017. The actress was known for her roles in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Dick Tracy and Mr. Holland’s Opus. The actress received a Theatre World Award and 4 Joseph Jefferson Awards. She was nominated for 2 Primetime Emmie Awards. Just Getting Started was her final film role, being released 6 months after she passed away. She also starred in Hulu’s half-hour original comedy Future Man, but she died mid-way through filming the series.

Rene Marie Russo is an American actress, model and producer. She began her career in the early 1970s as a fashion model. In her model career, Russo appeared on many magazine covers including the covers of Vogue and Cosmopolitan. Russo made her film debut in 1989 when she starred alongside Charlie Sheen in the comedy film Major League. Throughout her career, Russo has starred in thrillers, comedies and action movies. She took a 6-year break from acting between 2005 and 2011.

Tommy Lee Jones is an American actor and filmmaker. Jones has received 4 Academy Award nominations and has won Best Supporting Actor for his performance in the thriller The Fugitive. Jones starred as Texas Ranger Woodrow F. Call in the TV miniseries Lonesome Dove. He also starred alongside Will Smith in the Men in Black film series.

Joseph “Joe” Peter Pantoliano is an American character actor who is known for his portrayal of shady characters like criminals. His early roles include the pimp in 1993’s Risky Business and a member of the Fratelli crime family in The Goonies. More recently, Pantoliano starred as Ralph Cifaretto during seasons 3 and 4 of The Sopranos.
