WWE2K15 has finally set down on next-gen consoles!
One of its newest modes involves Showcase Mode, a playable set of matches that focus on two main rivalries – John Cena vs. CM Punk and Shawn Michaels vs. Triple H. These two campaigns feature the most important matches and moments that were seen throughout the battles between these WWE legends. We loved playing through the respective WWE eras contained in both rivalries and getting a look back at what occurred between these Superstars.
We’ve spotted the upcoming DLC planned for WWE2K15 Showcase Mode. To be quite honest, we’re a bit disappointed with the future offerings for playable rivalries (that Ultimate Warrior DLC is the only one that positively stands out to us). If it were up to us, these top 10 wrestling rivalries would be the ones we’re love to play in WWE 2K15.
10. Trish Stratus vs. Lita
We feel the Divas should get a nod for Showcase Mode. The best two to ever do it have to these WWE Hall of Famers. Trish Stratus and Lita got into an intense war that truly started in 2003 and culminated in 2006. They engaged in some pretty intense bouts, most notably their RAW main event for the Women’s Title and their Unforgiven 2006 bout. How awesome would it be to play as Trish and lock on that final Sharpshooter on Lita? These two ladies deserve major credit for building one of the most storied rivalries between Divas in WWE history.
9. John Cena vs. Edge
Where were you when Edge cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase on John Cena back in 2005? Minds were blown and the wrestling world celebrated Edge’s first WWE Championship win. From this point on, Edge and Cena got involved in a modern day war that enthralled us from start to finish. Edge disrespected Cena at every turn and Cena beat the breaks off of the “Rated R Superstar” whenever they got in the ring. We would love to play their SummerSlam 2006 main event, their intense ladder match at Unforgiven 2006 and their final encounter at Backlash 2009.
8. Triple H vs. The Rock
From 1998 all the way up till 2000, two of the’s WWE’s brightest up and coming stars crossed paths at several points. The Rock and Triple H were vying for the #1 spot in the company, which meant they faced off in a ton of classic bouts. If Showcase Mode featured these two, we think it should focus on their war from 1999 up until 2000. That means we want to take part in the 1st Smackdown main event and let it concluded with any of their contests in 2000. Throwing in their SummerSlam ladder match from 1998 would be a pretty cool nod to their longstanding history, too.
7. Hulk Hogan vs. “Macho Man” Randy Savage
1988-1989. Hogan and Savage embroiled in a war that broke down their Mega Power union. Throughout the entirety of their feud, Hogan had to come to grips with a jealous Savage who happened to wield the top prize in the company. Savage spotted some lust in Hogan’s eyes and he wasn’t feeling it one bit. Some of the biggest moments that occurred during this storyline involved the main event of the 1st SummerSlam, the controversial elimination Hogan did to Savage and finally the WrestleMania V main event. THE MEGA POWERS EXPLODE!
6. The Undertaker vs. Kane
Why oh why wasn’t this sibling rivalry included in WWE 2K15? The Undertaker’s legacy should have represented to the fullest in the 1st next-gen entry for the WWE 2K series. One of his most memorable wars took place back during the Attitude Era. His adversary was the burned, scorned and revenge fueled Kane. Things started during the 1st Hell in a Cell match and things got even more insane from that point on. This may be one the of the longer Showcase Mode plots, but it would well be worth it to play an Inferno Match in 1080p.
