1. Avalanche Software, The Main Developer Behind This Series, is Producing This Expansion With Other Development Studios
Avalanche Software has been at the helm of Disney Infinity since its inception. The company is now an official subsidiary of Disney. This video game development company realized it needed assistance when it came to improving upon several elements for their next installment.
Ninja Theory (Heavenly Sword, DmC: Devil May Cry) have lent their expertise to the game in the area of combat-focused gameplay. Sumo Digital (Forza Horizon 2, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed) have been tapped to improve upon the game’s vehicular racing. Studio Gobo has also joined this development group to lend their expertise to the vehicle-based portions. United Front Games is the final development team tasked to work out the rest of the kinks in Disney Infinity 3.0.
2. Six Main Play Sets Have Already Been Unveiled
The new play sets present in this upgraded edition of Disney Infinity mainly focuses on Star Wars. Players will take control of Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano as they look to take down the culprit behind the development of a reactivated Droid factory in “Twilight of the Republic.” The “Rise Against The Empire” play set will allow fans to relive events from the film series’ classic trilogy. You’ll get to play as Luke Skywalker, his sister Leia and Han Solo as they go to war with Darth Vader. The final play set will take players through new adventures from the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
On the Disney front, players will get to navigate the world of Inside Out in a new play set as well. The main plot of this campaign follows Riley. Riley’s memories become scattered throughout Imagination Land after falling asleep during a horror movie. You’ll command the five emotions as you find Riley’s scattered emotions and get them back to their main headquarters before Riley wakes up. The “Marvel Battlegrounds” play set will take 2.0 edition heroes and new ones and pit them all against all types of comic book baddies. This play set will feature 4-player local co-op.
The final play set (“Toy Box Takeover”) will incorporate characters from every franchise in a battle against Syndrome and a whole bunch of familiar villains. This ultimate mash-up will pit the good and evil of Disney, Marvel Comics and Star Wars against each other.
3. New Characters From Star Wars, Inside Out, Avengers: Age of Ultron and More Will Be Playable
Like the last two versions of Disney Infinity, avid collectors can expect to see a whole new array of figurines. These newly created figures will include characters from the worlds of Disney, Marvel Comics and of course, Star Wars. Certain retailers will have timed exclusivity rights to certain figures, so you’ll need to know which store you’ll be frequenting in order to locate these new characters.
