Ubisoft Quebec has already taken us on a journey through the French Revolution. Now they’re preparing us for a trek through the Industrial Revolution with a new conflict between the Assassins and Templars.
Assassin’s Creed Syndicate may not include any elements of two-player co-op, but players will get to wield the master skills of two separate characters – Jacob and Evie Frye. They have joined the Assassins cause to take down the Templar’s strong influence in London. Gangs run rampant during this period, which is one of the main aspects of this new approach to Assassin’s Creed. It’s up to you and your allies to eliminate the powerful Templar leadership and bring justice back to London.
Check out all the info regarding the next history spanning adventure in the Assassin’s Creed series – Syndicate.
1. This Assassin’s Creed Takes Place in 1868 and Follows The Adventures of Two Siblings
Assassin’s Creed Syndicate (the 9th main game in Ubisoft’s history spanning series) places players in London during the 1868 Industrial Revolution. You’ll make your way trough the illegal underbelly of London’s Victorian Era streets as you attempt to seize control from the Templars.
Famous locales, such as Big Ben and Buckingham Palace, will be among the standout real-life monuments you’ll come across in the game. On the vehicles front, you’ll have the ability to hijack horse carriages and traverse your way onto steamboats along the River Thames.
If you’re wondering which exact locations have been included this time around, these are the districts you can expect to venture through – Westminster, the Strand, the City of London, Whitechapel, Southwark and Lambeth.
Of course, it wouldn’t be an Assassin’s Creed game without a few in-game characters based on real-life figures from the past. The trailer posted above shows the important historical individuals you’ll come across in this latest sequel.
2. Jacob Frye is More of a Close-Quarters Brawler, While His Sister Evie Frye Employs More Silent Killer Means
This time, you’ll get to switch the main player roles between twin siblings – Jacob and Evie Frye. Jacob is the rougher of the bunch as he leads one of Great Britain’s most vicious gangs. Him, his sister and the rest of his gang look to free the oppressed peoples of their city and establish themselves as the most powerful organization in London. Jacob takes his enemies down in close-quarters, which means he’ll be able to equip fitting weapons such as brass knuckles, a revolver sidearm, a kukri knife and a cane sword.
Evie Frye can utilize those same weapons, but her playstyle is suited towards being more stealthy. She’s more akin to putting other Assassins-themed gear to good use, such as a rope launcher that can carry players up buildings and create zip-line paths between them. Evie is considered to be the 1st main playable female protagonist in an Assassin’s Creed game.
3. The Side Missions in The Game Focus Primarily on Taking Over London’s Underground Gang Hierarchy
Besides your main mission (release London and its society from the grasps of the unjust rule of the Templars), players will raise their gang’s influence and free the people during side missions. For instance, you’ll have the power to kidnap important targets for ransom and transport them within horse carriages as you look to drop them off at a specified target point. Your gang will also have to take down enemy strongholds, rob trains and free any child laborers they come across.
4. The Standard Edition, Plus Four Special Editions of The Game are Available
Assassin’s Creed Syndicate can be obtained in five different ways. Players can opt to pick up the Standard Edition, of course. But four other special versions are up for grabs – the Gold Edition, the Rooks Edition, the Charing Cross Edition and Big Ben Edition. You can pay a visit on over to Eurogamer.net for a complete overview of every special edition of the game.
5. PS4 Owners of The Game Will Get Access to an Exclusive Bit of DLC Missions
PS4 players should be pleased to know that they’ll get to play 10 exclusive missions. Ubisoft Quebec has dubbed this mission series as the “Dreadful Crimes” pack. The trailer seen above showcases what those 10 missions shall entail. It would be in your best interest nab the Season Pass for Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, by the way.
