WATCH: ‘Rocket League’ Heads Under the Sea With Free New Arena

According to the Rocket League official site, players will soon be able to “take [their] Battle-Cars 20,001 leagues under the sea”.

The new AquaDome arena will be the first standard one released since Utopia Coliseum in August of last year, and will appear in every Rocket League playlist, including Competitive. Psyonix’s Devin Conners says the arena was “inspired by the seven seas, the creatures beneath the waves, and the machines we use to study both”. In the trailer, you can see all manner of marine life swimming by the glass; at one point, a shark even pops by to say hello and perhaps spectate.

They will also be releasing two new Battle-Cars in the same update: The Triton, which is a sleek-looking submarine, and the Proteus, an intrepid research-type vessel. Unlike the map, the DLC cars will not be free, however; they will be priced at $1.99 USD (or regional equivalent) each.

The Aquadome update will launch sometime in October. More information is promised closer to the release date, so stay tuned to Heavy.com for updates and all your gaming news.
