Nintendo NX Reveal Coming Tomorrow

At long last, Nintendo is going to unveil the mysterious Nintendo NX.

It won’t come in the form of a Nintendo Direct, as many had speculated, but rather a preview trailer. The trailer will release 7am PT/10am ET, presumably on Nintendo’s official YouTube Channel. We’ll also post it here, so be sure to check back tomorrow morning.

Their decision to forgo unveiling the console at a large gaming convention and instead reveal it in this way is undeniably a strange one – not to mention the fact that they have waited until five months before its slated release window. The term “preview trailer” implies that it won’t be more than a few minutes in length, which just seems anticlimactic and not at all the debut that a new Nintendo console warrants. Hopefully, they will give us more than just a glimpse at the design, or at the very least use the trailer to announce a Nintendo Direct within the next few days.

In regards to the delay, Super Mario and Donkey Kong creator Shigeru Miyamoto told Associated Press:

“In terms of NX, there’s an idea that we’re working on. That’s why we can’t share anything at this point, and I don’t want to comment on the other companies. If it was just a matter of following advancements in technology, things would be coming out a lot quicker.”

Maybe tomorrow we’ll finally get to know what this coveted idea is, and Nintendo will justify their months of secrecy. Stay tuned for details following tomorrow’s reveal, which you can watch here at Heavy.com (now covering all your gaming news).
