A massive new Pokemon Go update has been released, and as part of the update, evolution items have been added to the game.
These are items that are used in order to evolve some generation one Pokemon into generation two Pokemon. They are sometimes used in combination with that Pokemon’s candy, and they can only be utilized a single time.
The evolution items can be obtained from PokeStops and only from PokeStops.
The first kind of evolution item added to the game is called Metal Coat, which is used in order to evolve Onix into Steelix and Scyther into Scizor.
There’s also Dragon Scale, which is used to evolve Seadra into Kingdra.
King’s Rock is used to evolve Poliwhirl into Politoed and Slowbro into Slowking. And Sun Stone evolves Gloom into Bellossom and Sunkern into Sunflora.
Finally, Up-Grade evolves Porygon into Porygon2.
It’s not yet clear at what rate these items will appear at PokeStops, but that will become apparent over the next few hours as players have more of a chance to test out this latest update to Pokemon Go.
