Games with Gold May 2017 Lineup

The latest lineup of Xbox’s Games with Gold is almost available. These games are available for “free” provided you have a subscription to Xbox Live Gold. These games will remain available to you as long as you keep your subscription active. Starting May 1, we will have access to new games. May is often known as Star Wars month since it contains May 4 – May the force be with you. As a result, we are getting two Star Wars games this month.

Games with Gold:

Both Star Wars titles are available on the Xbox 360 and are part of Xbox One’s backwards compatibility program.

Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams – Director’s Cut: Despite having a mouthful of a name, this game (please don’t make me say the name again) is a nice looking platformer that is supposed to combine the good visuals and controls of games today with the challenge of retro era platforming. It looks similar to Rayman Legends at first glance.

Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris: This top-down Lara Croft game is the sequel to Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light. This game puts you in Egypt as Lara Croft and rival treasure hunter Carter Bell seek the Staff of Osiris. Of course, things go wrong and bad things happen. This game is an excellent couch co-op game that allows up to four players.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II: This game is a sequel to a recent Game with Gold, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. The sequel puts you in the shoes of a clone of Starkiller, the main character of the first game and secret apprentice of Darth Vader, as you set out to find out who you are and find Juno Eclipse, your love interest. Personally, I didn’t enjoy it as much as the original, but it’s still worth the play through if you’re a Star Wars fan.

Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga: Before the Lego video game series became the juggernaut it was today, it started with the Lego Star Wars series. It combines the games Lego Star Wars: The Video Game and Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy. The game spans the first six episodes of the Star Wars saga and is another excellent couch co-op title.

The Walking Dead: Season Two will remain free until May 15 as part of the second half of April’s Games with Gold lineup. You still have time to pick up Ryse: Son of Rome and Assassin’s Creed Revelations if you’re reading this before May 1.
