‘Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2’ Has Motion Controls On Switch

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 finally has a release window on the Nintendo Switch along with some more details about the version.

Bandai Namco has confirmed the Switch version is coming this Fall, but has not locked down a definitive release date but we now have a better idea of when that will be. The game will bring a motion control option to the battles and local ad-hoc multiplayer with up to six players, meaning you can play with up to six players without connecting to the internet, provided you have enough consoles. The ability to local battle for two Joy-Cons and one system is also available on the Nintendo Switch. Of course, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 on the Nintendo Switch will be the only version of the game that is fully portable.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 looks to be one of the first third-party games to hit the Switch that will feature exclusive controls such as motion controls. The game’s final DLC pack releases this June and will contain SSGSS Vegito and Fused Zamasu. There is still a chance that the Switch version will be a “Game of the Year” edition and include all of the title’s DLC to date. It would be a nice gesture to the Switch owners who waited an extra year to experience this game.

According to Gematsu (via V-Jump), there a bonuses coming to the Nintendo Switch version which will allow the player to experience the “Time Patrol” main story from the first Dragon Ball Xenoverse. Those who pre-order will be a code to unlock all the characters from the main story early. Xenoverse 2 will take the motion controls up a notch and for players using the Joy-Cons with both hands, you will be able to trigger a devastating Kamahamaha attack with them. It sounds like the game has had some actual development for the motion controls instead of just lazily being tacked on.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 was released October 28, 2016 for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
