‘Friday the 13th: The Game’: When Does It Unlock?

Friday the 13th: The Game

Friday the 13th: The Game comes out tomorrow and you might be wondering the earliest time possible you can jump right into the game. Unfortunately, the unlock times for the game vary across the three platforms and we actually have a bit of bad news for one of the platforms.

Instead of the usual midnight unlock, PS4 owners will have to wait a tad bit longer than PC and Xbox One players to play. The unlock times were confirmed by the official Friday the 13th: The Game Twitter page.

  • Xbox One – Midnight EST
  • PS4 – 11 a.m. EST
  • PC – Midnight EST

The news comes as a bit of a bummer for PS4 owners as they have to wait an extra 11 hours to jump into the action while Xbox One and PC owners will be able to hop right into the action when the calendar turns to May 26. We don’t really have any idea on why the PS4 launch time is later than the other consoles but it is what it is.

At least the game will unlock worldwide at the same time for everyone so the majority of players won’t have too much of a head start on you. The game is not cross-play either so PS4 players won’t be at a disadvantage since they all start at the same time.

We hope to see everyone in Camp Crystal Lake as soon as possible. If you’re anything like us, you are trying to jump into the game as soon as possible and now you know when you can. If you’re really impatient, you can head to Twitch and watch people stream the game while you wait for your unlock time.

Friday the 13th: The Game releases May 26 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC and will cost $40. Will you be picking this game up tomorrow? Let us know in the comments below.
