‘Prey’: Should You Save Aaron Ingram?

Prey Aaron 1

In Prey, you are tasked with exploring the massive space station known as Talos I to find out what happened to you and its’ inhabitants. While most of the people you come across are dead or turned into Typhon, there are a few that still live. One of these people is Aaron Ingram who can be located in Material Extraction in the Psychotronics wing. However, the catch is that Aaron is a criminal who is scheduled to die by the hands of a Mimic for test purposes. This leaves the player with the choice to either let him go or have him killed like he was planned to.

Choice One: Kill Aaron

Prey Aaron 2

For those who simply do not trust Aaron you will need to use the console and hit the tab labeled “Mimic Multiplication.” Follow the controls to release a Mimic into the chamber that will kill Aaron and then multiply in front of the player. Then hit the Extract Exotic Materials to earn some rare resources for your crafting needs. What you will lose is the ability to use the code to access the Armory that Aaron claims to have. Killing him will also nullify any trophy or achievement for keeping all the humans alive.

However, there is a catch because you can break into the armory by firing a FelxiFoam bolt via the Huntress Boltcaster through the little hole in the window and hit the override button by the door. This window can be located in the hall full of flaming pipes, which can be covered up with rounds from your GLOO Gun.

Choice Two: Release Aaron

Prey Aaron 3

Releasing Aaron in our opinion is the “good” choice as it will ensure his survival and allow you to gain access to the armory. Our code was 8714, however, most of the codes are randomize so we cannot confirm that this is the same for everyone else. Once you have access just turn around and open the red door that’s adjacent to the containment unit Aaron was in. What resides inside are two shotguns, various types of ammo, a Neuromod, handgun, Weapon Upgrade Kit, EMP Charge, and the Shotgun/Pistol Ammo Fabrication Plans. Compared to the materials you will get the armory yields way better rewards.

Regardless of your outcome, this Prey side quest will be marked as completed and January will remark on your choice. Even if he is a criminal, at least Aaron can’t fire lasers or teleport across the room like a Phantom.
