And with that, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3’s tenure at Evo has come to a close.
After an exciting set of matches between last year’s Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 champion and a newcomer, Ryan LV came out on top against Chris G. After both men and the rest of the top competitors were celebrated on stage, the future of “MAHVEL!” was showcased for the live crowd and viewing audience at home. Filipino Champ and Combofiend took the sticks and participated in a brief but extra hype set of matches for Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite. During that 3-match exhibition, two of the game’s newest roster members got to hop into battle – Marvel’s only female Guardians of the Galaxy member Gamora and Darkstalkers 3’s Jedah.
Gamora’s skill set includes gunplay and her usage of various blades (her super move puts a massive Buster Sword-like weapon in her hands for some nasty swordplay). Jedah looks pretty slick in his new 3D form. His ability to stay airborne at any time returns, plus a lot of his moves from his Darkstalkers 3 iteration have remained intact.
Jedah can cut his opponents to shreds with his signature scythe and pull off a super move that turns his entire body into a particularly sharp pinwheel. Filipino Champ and Combofiend did a great job of giving everyone a taste of just how crazier the battles can turn out in the next evolution of Marvel vs. Capcom. That leaked list is looking more and more legit as new characters from it are being confirmed.
Hopefully an official gameplay trailer that shows off Gamora and Jedah’s sickest combos drops sooner rather than later. Side note – CHUN-LI’S FACE IS BETTER, TOO!
