Atlus Announces Three New Persona Titles

Persona 5

Persona 5 launched worldwide earlier this year and Atlus has already announced three new projects the company is working on. However, if you’re expecting the next mainline Persona game already, it’s best to just pump your breaks now.

Two of the games are dancing/rhythm games, much like Persona 4: Dancing All Night. Surprisingly, that game had a solid storyline but definitely wasn’t the Persona title fans were looking for. Atlus has expanded the idea of that game into Persona 3 and Persona 5.

The two titles – Persona 3: Dancing Moon Night and Persona 5: Dancing Star Night – are coming to PS4 and PS Vita early next year. There is a website up for the two titles now but it doesn’t share a whole lot. We’ve included the trailer for Persona 3: Dancing Moon Night below. And, yes, it does appear that Vita games are still made.

The final game that is being worked on is actually a Nintendo 3DS exclusive. Fans of Etrian Odyssey and Persona may remember a title called Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth from 2014. The game featured characters from both Persona 3 and 4. The website features the Phantom Thieves logo from Persona 5, suggesting we’ll see characters from that game be introduced into this game. The website for Persona Q2 is even more cryptic than the previous one as we only see a logo and no trailer.

This title will be hitting the Nintendo 3DS but we don’t really have anything else other than that to share at this point. We’ll report back once we hear about a definitive release date or window.

With all this Persona news, fans of the series should be happy. Although none of these titles are mainline games, it’s also good to see familiar faces pop up in different games. Even if you aren’t a fan of rhythm games, the two Persona rhythm games might be worth playing for the story and existing characters.

As mentioned earlier, look for the two Persona rhythm games early next year and Persona Q2 somewhere in the future.
