You’ve never heard of BlizzCon and are wondering what the fuss is all about. You’ve heard of people going to gaming conventions and thoughts like these might bubble up in your brain.
It’s what the kids do. They go to the convention and dress up and play video games. Also, Jane from down the street said it’s just one of the many conventions out there; you know like a boat show, home & life show, or even a car show. It’s just eating, drinking, talking, and walking around.
Thoughts like that are reasonable and they’re even partially correct. BlizzCon really is a large convention and a gathering of many types of people. There’s walking, eating, talking, and there are definitely costumes. It’s a way to get together and share a commonplace that binds you to thousands of others. BlizzCon is many things but mostly it’s just damn exciting.
Blizzard says, “BlizzCon is an epic celebration of Blizzard Entertainment’s game universes and the communities that bring them to life.” There is an infectious feeling of contentment. It’s a buzz, almost like electricity, running throughout the building. It’s about community, passion, and the Benefit Dinner.
The dinner benefits the Children’s Hospital of Orange County, and is always a big hit. There is more to BlizzCon than meets the eye and it’s a tough ticket to get. Find out all you need to know about BlizzCon 2017.
Panels, Showcases, & So Much More Room For Activities
Most people go with their friends. They go for work to cover the sporting events or help put them on for thousands of fans. Many people go to see their heroes IRL because panels and gaming showcases make it easy to interact with the games you love.
It might mean meeting a developer, trying new tech, seeing new games, talking to a creative director, or hearing a whole panel. Who are from your favorite studio. At BlizzCon you can watch them as they proceed to talk about making your favorite game ever. It’s infectious and everyone feels the same way.
If panels aren’t your thing then perhaps its the costume contest, talent contest, art contest, movie contest, or any of the other creative contests featured at BlizzCon 2017. You better believe there are some talented fans out there and they will be bringing their best to the contests.
That shouldn’t stop you from participating, it’s a great venue to show off any of your Blizzard pride. Your creative doodle or your movie, the one with your friend as Jim Raynor, could you some cash. Their are many ways to participate at BlizzCon 2017 and that means playing some vidya.
Gaming showcases and new technology are always onsite. Meet up with your guildmates and get to gaming. Try your hand at some classic Blizzard titles or finish up that last daily quest while at the convention. It’s time to have a great time and yell out, “For the Horde!” every five minutes.

Do I watch Hearthstone HSI Finals on Saturday, Nov. 4 at 11:15 AM PT in the North Hall? I’ll already be watching the HGC Semi-Finals at 10:00 AM PT in Hall B, but can I make both? Yes, you can and you even have time to buy a sweatshirt.

There are tournaments all over the globe for esports. There are big prizes and glory to be had. BlizzCon is always a great show, but now its a must see event. With the HGC Finals in it’s second year and boasting talent from all over the globe.
New heroes and HotS 2.0 is ready to shine on the big stage. After all the maintenance to prepare; it should be the best competition yet for the Heroes Global Championship.
Hearthstone packs its own punch and you can’t miss the action for even a moment. Because its not your grandma’s bridge game, these cards are battling. Tune in to watch the unique team-based play featured at the Hearthstone Inn-Vitational.
Have you heard of Starcraft 2? Okay so you know that it’s one of the best selling RTS games of all time and it has an amazing esports following. You knew all that? Well did you know that Artosis called this the single best year of Starcraft yet. Artosis says you should tune in; you tune in.
This lineup and playbill almost forgot the Game of the Year or maybe the game of the decade. Overwatch will be there and the Overwatch World Cup is going to amaze. Get ready for the best players around the globe to compete on the biggest stage. Shoutout to @pokelawls from Canada. The Genji will dominate and they have my vote to take it all.
