Fire Emblem Warriors: How to Heal With Staves

Fire Emblem Warriors

Fire Emblem Warriors strays from the traditional Fire Emblem gameplay and instead adopts the tried and true formula found in other Dynasty Warriors titles. Familiar Fire Emblem characters show up throughout the story but we’re mostly following the story of a young prince and princess, both of which are two brand new characters to the series.

Since we have hack-and-slash gameplay instead of the traditional strategic action we see with Fire Emblem, a few things have changed with this title. We still see different classes in the game such as Lord, Cleric, etc. and they will all do the same things but with some differences.  You will still need a character who can wield a staff to heal your characters outside of finding healing items in the battlefield.

To use a heal without the use of items in the field, you’re going to need to have Lissa on the battlefield with you early on. Lissa wields a staff in battle and that’s what you’ll need to heal your team with. Once you locate Lissa, finding out how to heal your team is pretty straightforward.

All you have to do is find a teammate that has taken some damage, approach them with Lissa and press ZR + A. If you do this properly, you’ll see a short animation that shows the healing be done. It’s important to note that you won’t be able to heal yourself this way so you’ll still need to kill enemies and hope for health items to drop if you want to heal Lissa or whoever else you have wielding a staff.

The staves don’t have unlimited uses on the battlefield so don’t be completely liberal with your uses. Luckily you’ll be able to equip several characters with staves if you choose to do so. In my experience with the game, this won’t be entirely necessary as health items drop pretty often and most enemies won’t be doing a whole lot of damage.

Fire Emblem Warriors is out now exclusive on the Nintendo Switch and New Nintendo 3DS.
