Weidman has quickly risen to the elite tier of the middleweight division, and his victory over Mark Munoz earlier this summer has propelled him into a potential title fight with 185 lb. champion Anderson Silva.
However, Silva does not plan to get back to fighting until next year, meaning Weidman will likely have one more fight before he can challenge the greatest fighter in the history of the UFC.
