Roger Huerta Signs With Bellator

Former UFC lightweight star Roger Huerta was officially announced today as the newest member of Bellator Fighting Championships.

Huerta will make his debut at Bellator 13 on April 8 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida. He’s the biggest name signed to date by the upstart promotion, and it marks the first time that a UFC star has chosen to sign with Bellator instead of resigning with Zuffa.

Huerta enters the 2nd season lightweight tournament as the favorite to advance through the tournament. Huerta’s ultimate goal is a shot at Bellator lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez.

Huerta said that his brief foray into acting is taking a back seat to his work with Bellator. He signed an exclusive contract with Bellator.
