The Big Apple is welcoming the UFC with open arms.
Okay, technically it’s not the Big Apple. “UFC 111: St. Pierre vs. Hardy” takes place across the river in Newark, New Jersey. But the event is happening close enough to New York City, a place where mixed martial arts isn’t currently legislated, that the UFC will bring it’s traditional pre-fight press conference to the legendary Radio City Music Hall.
“I love every time we go to the East Coast,” UFC President Dana White said. “The fans always come out and show their support. We’re coming there with a stacked card and two championship fights. This time New Jersey – New York is next.”
The UFC also announced that tickets for the event are officially sold out. The premiere episode of the highly-anticipated “UFC Primetime: St. Pierre vs. Hardy” debuts tonight on Spike at 10 p.m. ET.
