The eleventh season of “The Ultimate Fighter” is in full swing, but the Ultimate Fighting Championship is already looking forward to the finale, as the promotion has announced Keith Jardine vs. Matt Hamill as the main event of the evening.
Jardine, who was once a contender in the 205-pound division, is tumbling through a rough patch at this point in his career, having been knocked out by Thiago Silva and Ryan Bader on consecutive outings. The losses sent Jardine on the worst losing streak of his career, which began against Quinton “Rampage” Jackson at UFC 96.
The last time anyone saw Hamill in the Octagon, he defeated Jon Jones via disqualification, but that was after one of the most brutal, dominant rounds in recent history. Hamill was completely dominated prior to referee Steve Mazagatti stopping the action due to illegal strikes, courtesy of Jones. Now, Hamill looks to rebound from his worst performance as a professional mixed martial artist.
The two light heavyweights are set to battle at “The Ultimate Fighter Finale” on June 19. Las Vegas, Nevada’s Pearl at the Palms Casino and Resort will play host to the summer event, which will be aired live on Spike TV. No other bouts have been confirmed for the season finale.
