Strikeforce is heading back to San Jose, California this October and they are bringing Nick Diaz, champion Sarah Kaufman, and Matt Lindland with them.
The promotion announced on Saturday that on October 9 at the HP Pavilion Sarah Kaufman will defend her women’s 135-pound title against Marloes Coenen, while Matt Lindland and Luke Rockhold will battle to see who takes the next step forward towards the middleweight title. Nick Diaz will also be included in the evening’s main card, but there has been no word from the promotion as to whether or not his welterweight title will be on the line.
The event, appropriately titled “Strikeforce: San Jose“, remains somewhat undeveloped at this point, but, nevertheless, tickets for the show go on sale this week. On Wednesday, August 25, the general public will be able to purchase the tickets, while “Strikeforce Insider” newsletter subscribers will be sent a promotional code to purchase tickets the day before.
