Foster joins Bellator 145 lb. tournament

A third fighter has joined the pack in Bellator’s featherweight tournament, as Kenny Foster looks to battle his way through the field this upcoming season.

Bellator Fighting Championships announced the addition earlier today.

Foster, who has compiled a record of 8-2 over his short time in the sport of mixed martial arts, joins Eric Larkin and Zac George in the tourney, leaving another five spots that will likely be taken shortly. Foster last competed against Lester Caslow at Bellator 33, earning a unanimous decision victory.Other fighters expected to join the field are Georgi Karakhanyan, Daniel Straus, Nazareno Malegerie, and Wilson Reis, according to reports from MMAjunkie.com.

“Kenny’s a well-rounded fighter who has the skills and tools to do very well in this tournament and potentially shock people,” the promotion’s CEO Bjorn Rebney said in today’s press release.

The 145-pound tournament will be one of potentially four featured on Bellator’s upcoming 12-week season, which will broadcast on MTV2. Beginning this March, the participants will battle for a shot at featherweight champion Joe Warren, who is on an undefeated run through the promotion’s competition.
