Straus the fifth to join Bellator 145 lb. tournament

Daniel Straus is the fifth fighter to join Bellator Fighting Championships’ season four featherweight tournament.

Officials from the promotion made the announcement earlier today.

Straus, a 17-fight veteran of the sport, will make his second appearance in the Bellator cage in the opening round of the eight-man tournament, bringing with him a 10-fight winning streak. In his last outing, Straus submitted WEC veteran Karen Darabedyan via unanimous decision at “Shark Fights: Jardine vs. Prangley” last September.

The promotion’s addition of Straus ups the tournament roster up to five. The promotion recently made it official that Kenny Foster, Georgi Karakhanyan, Eric Larkin, and Zac George will be competing, and now only three spots remain.

The 145 lb. tournament will be broadcast on MTV2, along with the rest of Bellator‘s fourth season, beginning this March. Three other tournaments are expected to be featured throughout the 12 weeks the season will run.
