“Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Cyborg” draws an average of 561,000 viewers
Last weekend’s “Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Cyborg” drew an estimated average of 561,000 viewers.
MMAjunkie.com confirmed the figures with earlier today.
The event, which featured welterweight champion Nick Diaz‘s submission victory over Evangelista Santos, was broadcast live on Showtime this past Saturday. Also on the card, middleweight champion Ronaldo Souza submitted slugger Robbie Lawler in the evening’s co-main event.
The average audience for the card topped any other Strikeforce event throughout the past year, and the peak audience of 853,000 viewers is second most of all time for the promotion on Showtime. The event was the promotion’s first of 2011.
