“Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Silva” drug tests negative

Following last month’s “Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Silva,” all fighters were tested for performance enhancing drugs and other types of drug abuse, and all 20 submitted clean samples.

The New Jersey State Athletic Control Board revealed the news earlier on Thursday.

The event took place at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey on February 12 and featured two opening round bouts for the promotion’s heavyweight grand prix, along with three alternate tournament bouts.

In the evening’s co-main event, former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski was knocked out cold by Sergei Kharitonov, while the legendary Russian Fedor Emelianenko took an early exit, losing to underdog Antonio Silva in the main event. In the alternate bouts, Valentijn Overeem, Shane Del Rosario, and Chad Griggs all kept their hopes alive by earning stoppage victories.
