Diaz/MacDonald and Pierson/Ellenberger featured on free broadcast
Spike TV has announced the two bouts that will be featured on the UFC 129 Prelims broadcast.
UFC 129 takes place April 30 at the Rogers Centre in Toronto. The Prelims broadcast is scheduled to start at 8pm ET, one hour prior to the start of the pay per view.
In the first bout of the broadcast, Cesar Gracie jiu-jitsu product Nate Diaz will take on Canadian Rory MacDonald in a welterweight battle. Diaz is coming off a loss in his last bout with Dong Hyun Kim, while MacDonald dropped a TKO to Carlos Condit in the final seconds of their fight at UFC 115 last June.
The second bout will see Sean Pierson taking on Jake Ellenberger. Pierson was originally scheduled to face Brian Foster, but a brain hemorrhage forced Foster to withdraw from the bout and Ellenberger stepped in.
Pierson scored a unanimous decision over Matt Riddle at UFC 124 in December. Ellenberger is currently riding a four-fight winning streak.
