Tickets on sale Wednesday to UFC Fight Club members, Friday to general public

It’s official. The Ultimate Fighting Championship returns to Atlantic City, N.J., this summer for the first time since UFC 53 in June 2005.

Though the date had been announced for UFC on FX: Maynard vs. Guida on June 22, the promotion had yet to make official the venue for the card, which had been reported to be the new Revel Atlantic City. On Monday, the UFC announced that site for the show, which will be its fourth event to be broadcast live on the FX cable network, will take place at Ovation Hall at Revel, a 5,500-seat amphitheater.

The main event for UFC on FX 4 will be a lightweight contenders bout between two-time title challenger Gray Maynard and Clay Guida. The fight will be a five-round bout. The card will be the UFC’s seventh in Atlantic City. The first three took place at the Trump Taj Mahal, followed by three at the Boardwalk Hall.

“The fans have been asking for us to come back to Atlantic City for a long time, and on June 22, we’re going to deliver an incredible night of fights,” UFC president Dana White said in a statement. “Atlantic City was where we held our first event as owners of the UFC in 2001, and I can’t wait to get back. This fight between Gray Maynard and Clay Guida could be one of the best of the year. Both of these guys fight at an incredible pace and I expect a five-round war.”

Tickets for the event go on sale to UFC Fight Club members on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Eastern through ufcfightclub.com. Additionally, a presale for UFC newsletter subscribers takes place Thursday at 10 a.m. Tickets to the general public will be released Friday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster outlets and are priced at $75, $125, $225 and $350, plus service fees.

After several construction delays due to reported financing issues, Revel is scheduled to open officially on May 25, just a month before the UFC rolls into the oceanside venue. But Revel is in the midst of an eight-week “preview” opening. The hotel tower, at 47 stories, is the tallest building in Atlantic City.

Apart from the Maynard-Guida main event, UFC on FX 4 features a trilogy rubber match between Spencer Fisher and Sam Stout, a featherweight bout between Ross Pearson and Cub Swanson and a featherweight fight between highly touted prospect Jimy Hettes and TUF product Steven Siler. New Jersey natives on the card include Dan Miller, Nick Catone and Rich Attonito.
