White explained to MMAWeekly.com that Ortiz will be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame at the Fan Expo this July in Las Vegas, Nevada prior to his UFC 148 bout against Forrest Griffin.

At a press conference for UFC 150 in Denver, Colorado, White explained how the storyline between Chuck Liddell, Ortiz, and himself was a part of the history of the promotion.

He would fight for the belt on one other occasion, but never would again hold the title of 205 lb. champion of the UFC.

As previously mentioned, Ortiz meets Griffin at UFC 148 on July 7 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. They have fought on two prior occasions and are find their series even at 1-1.
