Dos Santos vs. Velasquez II set for Toronto
A heavyweight title bout between champion Junior dos Santos and top contender Cain Velasquez is expected to headline UFC 152 in Toronto.
UFC president Dana White revealed the news following “UFC on FX 3” Friday night.
Dos Santos and Velasquez first met at “UFC on FOX 1.” In the main event of the evening, dos Santos earned the knockout victory to earn the heavyweight strap.
Since that fight, dos Santos, known for his powerful striking, has fought just once. He defended his title successfully against Frank Mir at UFC 146 with a technical knockout finish.
At that same event, Velasquez also returned to action, the first bout since his loss. He dominated Strikeforce veteran Antonio Silva with a first round stoppage win.
UFC 152 is set for September 22 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada at the Air Canada Centre. The heavyweight rematch will serve as the main event.
