Thomson, Fodor meet next month
A lightweight contest between Josh Thomson and Caros Fodor is expected to take place this September at “Strikeforce: Melendez vs. Healy.”
Thomson revealed the news to Sherdog.com.
The bout will take place on the main card of the September 29 event, which is set for Sacramento, California with a lightweight title bout between champion Gilbert Melendez and top contender Pat Healy.
A former champion, Thomson looks to work his way back to the top and into a fourth fight with champ Melendez. He defeated the Cesar Gracie fighter back in 2008 in their first meeting, but has since lost to him twice, including a split-decision loss in his most recent performance.
Meanwhile, Fodor entered his last contest on a five-fight winning streak, but saw that rampage cut short by the aforementioned Healy. The loss was just his second as a professional.
