Johnson reveals next flyweight top contender
UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson may just be a few days removed from making history by becoming the first flyweight champion in UFC history, but “Mighty Mouse” is already looking ahead.
On UFC Tonight, Johnson revealed that the next top contender will come out of the Jussier “Formiga” da Silva vs. John Dodson fight.
That fight takes place on October 5 at “UFC on FX 5.”
Da Silva is on a five-fight winning streak, having not lost since February of 2011. The loss, which came against Ian McCall, was the only of da Silva’s career.
Meanwhile, Dodson is on a four-fight winning streak, including his win over T.J. Dillashaw to become “The Ultimate Fighter: Season 14” winner.
