“TUF” veteran released by UFC
DaMarques Johnson has been released by the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
“The Ultimate Fighter” veteran announced the news via Twitter.
“And the hits keep on coming,” he wrote. “No longer a UFC fighter.”
Johnson last competed at “UFC on FUEL TV 5,” losing to Gunnar Nelson via submission. While he did take the fight on short notice, Johnson missed weight badly, weighing in at 183 lbs. for the 175 lb. catchweight contest.
The loss was Johnson’s third in a row. He was 4-6 in the UFC.
