Heavyweight sluggers Pat “HD” Barry and Gilbert Yvel will face off at UFC 115 in Vancouver. Bout agreements have been signed and returned, according to a report from MMA Junkie.
The bout will take place on the UFC 115 pay per view broadcast, which is expected to take place June 15 at GM Place in Vancouver. A headlining bout for the evening has not been decided. Rumors have circulated that the Tito Ortiz/Chuck Liddell bout could take place on the show, but sources informed Heavy.com today that the bout was much more likely to take place on the 7/3 show in Las Vegas.
The Barry/Yvel fight is another intriguing piece of matchmaking from Joe Silva. Both men are strikers who spent time in the kickboxing world, and the likelihood of this bout reaching the ground (or even the second round) is not very high.
