Rothwell, Sinosic Pulled From UFC 110 Card Due to Illness, Injury

UFC 110 apparently isn’t immune from the recent injury curse that has plagued major UFC events since October. Despite being less than 48 hours away, two fights for the UFC’s first foray into Australia have been effected by illness and injury.

Ben Rothwell pulled out of his fight with Mirko Cro Cop due to an undisclosed illness. He’ll be replaced by Anthony Perosh on the main card bout against the Croatian mixed martial arts legend. Perosh (10-5) hasn’t appeared in the UFC since losing his only two bouts for the promotion in 2006. The 37-year-old Australian has spent the majority of his time in Australia’s Cage Fighting Championships, where he posted a 5-2 record.

A shoulder injury to Elvis Sinosic also forced the cancellation of his preliminary card bout with Chris Haseman. Sinosic will not be replaced by a new opponent, bringing the total amount of fights on the card to nine.
