At the ripe age of 25, Brian Foster packs a lot of potential as a welterweight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

After winning 9 of his first 11 fights, Foster worked his way through the ranks of various promotions – all the way to a shot with the most notable promotion in the sport.?However, a second round submission defeat at the hands of Rick Story at UFC 103 in Dallas, TX was not the most ideal introduction into the promotion.

Following the disappointing premiere, Foster was matched up with undercard sensation Brock Larson, a fighter that made a nice run in the WEC and UFC while running his overall record to an impressive 26-4. Each fighter was looking for a chance at redemption, as Larson had also lost his last fight after winning five straight.

While the bout may have been marred with illegal shots and deducted points courtesy of Larson, Foster pulled through the adversity en route to a powerful second round knockout victory, giving Larson his second consecutive loss and his walking papers from the UFC executives.

Now Foster looks to expand on his upset over Larson with a dominant performance against UFC veteran Chris Lytle, whose stand and bang style always promises an incredible fight.

Foster brings with him heavy hands and solid wrestling that has equaled success to this point in his career. However, Lytle’s style has caused several of his opponents to get off track in terms of game plan, and Foster, who trains with the notable HIT Squad, will need to stay the course in order to achieve his first win streak in the UFC.

As is usually the case with Lytle and Foster, fans can expect an exciting, fast-paced fight when the two throw down in Australia at UFC 110 this weekend. A win for Foster would go a long way in proving to UFC officials that the young fighter is ready for some marquee fights within the toughest division in all of MMA.
